Performance Of Molded Case Circuit Breakers

1. Compact Structure and Modular Design: Molded case circuit breakers integrate the operating mechanism, contact system, arc extinguishing device, and trip unit into a single insulated housing. This compact structure provides a high level of protection, effectively preventing dust and foreign object intrusion and ensuring operational safety. Many products employ a modular design for easy functional expansion and maintenance.

 

2. Excellent Protection Functions: The core functions are providing long-delay overload protection and instantaneous short-circuit protection. Overload protection is achieved through a thermal trip unit; when the line current exceeds a set value and persists for a certain period, the circuit breaker will delay and disconnect the circuit to prevent damage from overheating. Short-circuit protection is executed by an electromagnetic trip unit, which trips rapidly (usually within tens of milliseconds) in the event of a large short-circuit current to protect electrical equipment from the impact of electrical forces and thermal damage. Some advanced models also feature short-delay short-circuit and ground fault protection functions.

 

3. High Breaking Capacity: Breaking capacity refers to the innovative fault current value that the circuit breaker can safely interrupt. Molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) typically have a much higher breaking capacity than miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), capable of withstanding and interrupting large short-circuit currents that may occur in power distribution systems. This ensures reliable circuit interruption even under severe faults, preventing the accident from escalating.

 

4. Flexible installation and operation. Supports multiple installation methods, such as fixed, plug-in, and drawer-type, facilitating installation and replacement in different distribution cabinet structures. Operation methods are also diverse, including manual and electric operation, and can be equipped with auxiliary contacts, alarm contacts, and other accessories for remote indication and control.

 

5. Excellent applicability and reliability. Capable of stable operation in relatively harsh environments, with a long service life and high mechanical and electrical durability, meeting the reliability requirements of circuit protection devices in various application scenarios.
